Growing Your Legal Career at Aramark

The Aramark Legal Department offers a wide range of legal positions at Aramark’s headquarters in Philadelphia and around the globe. With professional development training, a collegial culture and opportunities for advancement, Aramark has helped launch and grow legal careers. To demonstrate the opportunities available at Aramark, we interviewed four legal professionals who have risen in the ranks to hear their stories and get their personal perspectives on what it means to build a career here.

Jamie McClammer, Assistant General Counsel

Jamie McClammer (he/him) began his legal career as a litigator at the U.S. Department of Labor and later handled litigation and regulatory matters at a small environmental firm.  Jamie was drawn to the opportunity at Aramark to work directly with the business at a company known for its collaborative, creative, and inclusive professional culture.  Despite having no commercial contracting experience, Jamie was able to leverage the training and support of his managers and colleagues to quickly become a trusted legal advisor to the business regarding contractual matters.  This successful transition allowed him to grow his in-house counsel skill set, recently resulting in a promotion to Assistant General Counsel with Aramark’s Higher Education line of business. Check out Jamie’s complete interview below!

Shannon Braden, Assistant General Counsel

A problem-solver by nature, Assistant General Counsel Shannon Braden (she/her) found a home working and growing as a legal professional at Aramark. After nearly a decade in private practice, Shannon discovered that her real passion is directly advising clients in collaborative and dynamic institutional environments, much like the one she found at Aramark. Since joining, Shannon has grown rapidly as a professional and a person thanks to encouraging and empathetic leadership at Aramark.

Deirdre Attea, Assistant General Counsel

After Graduating from Notre Dame, Deirdre (she/her) spent 8 years at a large firm in Philadelphia working on Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate Financing. As her family started to grow, she took a part time position at a specialty chemical company with the ultimate goal of stepping away from her work and focusing on raising her children. The uncertainty that followed the 2008 financial crisis, however, caused her to rethink her plans. As she looked to reenter the workforce, Aramark was there to offer a flexible, part-time work as a temp, which eventually evolved into a rewarding full-time role. To hear Deirdre’s full story, watch her interview below!

Patrick Shea, Assistant General Counsel

After discovering his passion for law through a Co-Op program at Drexel University, Patrick (he/him) went on to attain his JD at Temple University. Eventually, through the recommendation of a close friend, Patrick ended up taking a role with Aramark where he’s spent the last 6 years growing his career and discovering a home where legal professionals can bring their true selves to the workplace.
