Job Description

This is a driving position whose main responsibilities is to provide services to key accounts on area routes, and schedule route sales required by customer needs. This position is classified as hourly; however, if performed by an independent distributor, compensation will be a flat amount per stop or day. The driving of company vehicles and/or personal vehicles in furtherance of company business must be done in a manner that is consistent with all DOT and state requirements. Mileage will be compensated.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and organized back-room inventory of product.
  • Maintain appropriate product levels in the bread aisle and display locations throughout the account
  • Meet customer service expectations through communication, problem resolution and follow-up with district management.
  • Maintain a professional, team relationship with co-workers and customers.
  • Maintain merchandising standards while rotating products according to date codes.
  • Responsible for organizing and storing all incoming products in assigned locations, applying FIFO (first in, first out) inventory controls for perishable products. 
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to meet accuracy and production standards. .
  • Responsible for conducting routine physical inventory counts based on established location schedules. 
  • Accurately complete administrative duties including records such as inventory count documents, temperature and spoilage logs, equipment inspections, and any other relevant business records. This may be on paper or in a technology-based system (hand-held device or PC).
  • Implement all location safety policies, OSHA requirements, SDS standards, and emergency procedures. Use all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment. 
  • Takes appropriate measures to ensure the security of client and company assets. 
  • Interact with clients, employees, vendors, customers, and guests about business-related activities and attend meetings, as required.
  • Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc

Qualifications

  • Must be over 18 years of age  
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred
  • Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  • Ability to meet FDA and CDC guidelines of public safety for work in a food production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment
  • Able to lift, move, and maneuver average loads of 100 to 175 lb 
  • Have the ability to lift, stoop, and bend to dismantle product stacks and transfer product to customer shelves
  • Able to enter and exit step van on a routine basis
  • Able to distinguish products by color and date coding
  • Have quality speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English, and/or another language if required
  • Current valid driver’s license 
  • Have or be able to obtain DOT license

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking & standing.  This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
