Staff Accountant, General Ledger - Avendra International

Job Description

The Staff Accountant, General Ledger will be an integral part of the Accounting team by supporting the Accounting Manager with the monthly close, variance analysis and account reconciliations.

Position Reports to Accounting Manager

 

COMPENSATION:  The salary range for this position is $49,105.00 to $78,568.00.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and related reporting for all companies
  • Prepare SOP 98-1 timesheets for approval
  • Reconcile and track all Sales Tax transactions on a monthly basis, and work with third party preparer to resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare assigned entries and accounts reconciliations 
  • Perform variance analysis on department P&L statements on a monthly basis
  • (i.e. budget versus actual)
  • Prepare monthly schedules to report Avendra Replenishment, LLC spend and investigate and resolve any reporting discrepancies
  • Prepare schedules for quarterly reporting package and SEC reporting
  • Responsible for parts of consolidation closing process for both US and Canada entities, including working with counterpart in HQ to research entries and document all transactions accordingly
  • Manage other tax filings and reports:
    • Census
    • Prepare schedules for property tax returns

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Prepare SOX and financial statement audit schedules 
  • Backup for AP Administrator
  • Prepare tax schedules
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting

Work Environment.  This job operates in an office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands. This is largely a sedentary role with some light lifting of files possibly needed.  

Qualifications

 

Education Requirements.   BS/BA in relevant field required Accounting Major required, must be eligible for the CPA exam 

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong technical accounting, internal control and financial analysis skills
  • Strong written and oral communication 
  • Well-organized, able to effectively manage multiple priorities
