Job Description

Join Our Team as a Food Service Worker at Morgan County Correctional Complex!

Are you an experienced food service professional looking to make a meaningful impact? At Morgan County, we are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to supervise and train inmates in food preparation, ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Training: Utilize your food service experience to guide inmates in food preparation and tray assembly, ensuring adherence to Aramark standards.
  • Efficient Operations: Coordinate and assign work to promote operational efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve production and temperature logs, ensuring timely and efficient meal service.
  • Recipe Management: Print and distribute recipes, and train inmates on proper cooking procedures.
  • Security & Safety: Adhere to security policies, ensure storage areas are locked, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control, receiving, and storing food items, and requisition orders as needed.
     

Qualifications

•    Must be over 18 years of age  
•    Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
•    Previous supervisory experience preferred
•    Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus
•    Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment
•    Must be able to obtain a food safety certification
•    Ability to work independently with limited supervision
•    Ability to exercise good judgment and tact
•    Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies
•    Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
