Junior Sous Chef - MGM Music Hall at Fenway

Job Description

Aramark Sports & Entertainment is hiring a skilled Junior Sous Chef to oversee our kitchen operations at MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park!

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of culinary experience, preferably with a junior Sous Chef background. In this role, the Junior Sous Chef will work alongside a manager who will help coordinate and lead front-of-house operations. In turn, the Junior Sous Chef will oversee staffing, organizing team members, and some aspects of menu development. This position will report directly to the General Manager.

MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park is a 5,000-seat indoor music venue. Throughout the calendar year, we host upwards of 150+ concerts and catering events. The kitchen serves as the heart of the operation, and serves two club style restaurants, multiple loge boxes, as well as the concessions operations. 

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $25.00 to $30.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise kitchen personnel and food production under the Sous Chef's direction.
  • Ensure food preparation meets Aramark’s quality, consistency, and timelines standards.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures, organize work areas, and uphold health codes.
  • Exhibit knowledge of scheduling and assist in training new culinary team members.
  • Perform and supervise opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Keep equipment, workstations, walk-ins, and freezers clean, organized, and stocked while ensuring proper food temperatures and storage.
  • Partner with service personnel and restaurant managers to satisfy guests.
  • Maintain food cost within set parameters
  • Assist in monthly inventory and read/execute BEOs for catering functions.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

•    Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions 
•    Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year
•    Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
•    Ability to perform basic arithmetic 
•    Maintain emotional control under stress
•    Ability to resolve interpersonal situations
•    Strong organizational skills
