Job Description

Aramark Facilities Services is hiring a Sanitation Collector / General Utility Worker to support operations at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. In this role, you will collect trash from campus dormitories and outdoor receptacles, operate a company trash truck, and transport waste to the designated compactor area. This position is ideal for dependable candidates with experience in sanitation, custodial services, grounds maintenance, waste collection, general labor, or facilities support. The work is active and requires working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and be able to safely perform physical job duties. Multiple schedule options are available, with pay ranging from $13.00 to $13.50 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

- Collect trash from residence halls, campus buildings, and outdoor waste receptacles
- Operate a company trash truck to transport waste materials across campus
- Empty waste containers and deliver collected trash to the designated compactor
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Keep work areas, collection routes, and waste handling locations clean and orderly
- Follow all Aramark safety policies, waste handling procedures, and site regulations
- Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties
- Complete assigned sanitation, custodial, and general utility tasks as needed
- Work safely in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to weather conditions
- Provide courteous and professional service while interacting with students, staff, and campus visitors
- Assist with additional facilities, grounds, or custodial support duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a federal background check
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow traffic regulations
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the workday
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
- Understanding of basic safety and sanitation procedures
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Availability to work one of the following schedules:
o Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
o Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Preferred
- Previous experience in waste collection, sanitation, custodial services, housekeeping, groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, general labor, or related work
- Experience operating work trucks or commercial vehicles
- Experience working in a university, campus, institutional, or facilities environment
