Job Description


Aramark Facilities Management is seeking a skilled Painter I to support the appearance and upkeep of a college campus. In this role, you will prepare walls, ceilings, and other surfaces for painting by applying joint compound and tape, sanding, scraping, and creating smooth, professional finishes. You will apply paint and specialty coatings while matching existing colors and textures throughout campus facilities. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in commercial or residential painting who take pride in high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime and weekend work available as business needs require. Compensation for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $20.00 to $25.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities


  • Prepare walls, ceilings, drywall, and other surfaces for painting and finishing.
  • Apply joint compound, tape, patching materials, and texture repairs as needed.
  • Sand, scrape, and smooth surfaces to ensure high-quality finished results.
  • Apply paint, stains, coatings, and protective finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Match existing paint colors and textures for repairs and renovation projects.
  • Maintain and repair drywall, wall textures, and related finishes.
  • Operate painting tools and equipment including brushes, rollers, sprayers, sanders, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Protect surrounding areas using drop cloths, masking materials, and safety barriers.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling paints, solvents, coatings, and hazardous materials.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction are met.
  • Work throughout a college campus environment including classrooms, offices, residence halls, common areas, and other facilities.
  • Complete assigned projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Qualifications


  • Required

    • Minimum 5 years of painting experience in commercial, institutional, residential, or related environments.
    • Experience preparing surfaces, repairing drywall, applying joint compound and tape, and performing finish work.
    • Ability to match paint colors and textures accurately.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe handling of painting materials.
    • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner.
    • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
    • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
    • Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.

    Preferred

    • Experience working on college campuses, schools, healthcare facilities, or other large commercial properties.
    • Experience operating paint sprayers, scaffolding, and other specialized painting equipment.
    • Knowledge of drywall finishing and wall texturing techniques

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
