Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily groundskeeping and landscaping activities including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, weeding, and general lawn care.
• Remove leaves, debris, and litter from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and landscaped areas.
• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance including snow removal, salting, and ice control.
• Operate power equipment such as commercial mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, edgers, chainsaws, and sprayers.
• Operate trucks, tractors, and attached grounds maintenance equipment as needed.
• Maintain landscaped areas by planting flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation.
• Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on lawn care equipment and tools.
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report equipment issues or hazards.
• Work outdoors in changing weather conditions throughout the year.
• Support overall campus appearance by maintaining clean, safe, and professional grounds.

Qualifications

• Required

  • Experience operating commercial lawn care equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, and edgers.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Valid non-commercial driver's license.
  • Ability to safely follow workplace safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with additional hours when weather or business needs require.

  Preferred

  • 1+ years of landscaping, groundskeeping, lawn care, horticulture, or grounds maintenance experience.
  • Experience operating tractors, utility vehicles, or other commercial grounds equipment.
  • Experience with snow removal and seasonal grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of planting, landscape maintenance, and irrigation best practices.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
