Location: Houston Christian University Campus
Schedule: Day / Emergency Rotating On-Call

The Day Time Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing custodial operations across campus during the daytime hours. This role ensures that academic, administrative, residential, and common areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance in support of the university's mission and campus community.

Job Responsibilities

- Supervise and lead custodial staff assigned to day shifts across campus buildings
- Assign daily work schedules and ensure tasks are completed according to established cleaning standards
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to verify quality, safety, and compliance
- Provide hands-on support, coaching, and training to custodial staff as needed
- Address service requests, emergencies, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner
- Enforce university policies, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment and chemicals
- Maintain accurate shift reports, inspection logs, and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with evening supervisors and management regarding completed work and follow-up needs
- Monitor staffing levels, respond to call-outs, and assist with timekeeping accuracy
- Ensure secure access to facilities during the day and evening hours

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of custodial or facilities experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a university or large campus environment
- Familiarity with floor care, events, and specialized cleaning processes
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate custodial equipment
