Hospitality Worker I - High Point Univ - Kahn Hotel & Alo Res

Job Description

The Kahn Hotel is looking to add a NIGHT TIME bellman/shuttle & golfcart drivers to our team. This position will interact with our guests, greeting them when they enter the lobby, aid with taking luggage to the guest room, shuttle our guest around the beautiful High Point University campus.

Starting pay is $15/hour and schedules will vary to include evenings/nights, weekends, holidays. Tips are not accepted.
 

Job Responsibilities

• 6 months to 1 year of hotel or hospitality experience preferred.  Willing to train.
• Transport guest luggage to and from assigned rooms.
• Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room.
• Identify and explain hotel facilities and features to guests while escorting them to their room.
• Identify and explain guest room features to include use of  a) HVAC thermostat controls b) telephone c) television d) location of guest pantry areas e) in room safe f) lighting controls g) bathroom amenities h) valet/laundry services i) door lock.
• Maintain accurate knowledge of scheduled events on campus to direct guests to correct locations.
• Relay accurate directions to guests on inquiries of transportation within the local area.
• Maintain and refresh lobby coffee break service.
• Monitor cleanliness of lobby and perform light housekeeping work.  Make housekeeping aware of any cleanliness concerns.

Qualifications

• Previous guest services experience preferred
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Bending – kneeling as directed above.
• Work in a fast pace, high demand setting.
• Physical ability to supervise on-floor activities required during the workday.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
