Senior Director of HBCU Engagement

 

The Senior Director of HBCU Engagement is a pivotal role within the Aramark Collegiate Hospitality Growth Sales Team, reporting directly to the Regional Vice President of Growth. This role is primarily focused on acquiring new HBCU accounts and supporting existing HBCU accounts. As the Senior Director of HBCU Engagement – Collegiate Hospitality, you will have an opportunity to exceed assigned pipeline and profit objectives, lead new business initiatives and processes and work closely with Sales Leadership in developing overall sales strategies within the HBCU market. You will collaborate with Business and Regional Leadership to develop sales strategies for expanding our HBCU portfolio and will take active ownership with our current client relationships. By leveraging their expertise in sales, relationship management, and understanding of HBCU needs, the Senior Director of HBCU Engagement will drive revenue growth and contribute to the overall success of Aramark's collegiate hospitality division.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive sales process leadership from contact through strategy, proposal, presentation & successful conclusion for dining services within the defined market of HBCU’s
• Aggressively research, identify, qualify & target potential clients & develop access strategy to initiate contact
• Develop and execute strategic plans for new business opportunities within the HBCU market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at HBCUs and the HBCU community, including C-suite leaders, administrators, faculty, and student organizations.
• Collaborate with the Regional Vice President of Growth to align growth initiatives with overall organizational goals and strategies.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for differentiation within the HBCU market.
• Influence and develop team members without formal authority. Lead sales presentations, negotiations, and contract renewals with HBCU partners. Represent Aramark Collegiate Hospitality in the marketplace at various industry organizations and events
• Work closely with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless delivery of services and solutions to HBCU clients.
• Partner with Retention team to develop and execute strategic plans to support renewals and expand existing HBCU accounts. Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, pipeline development, and market trends to senior leadership.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting HBCUs and collegiate hospitality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, with a minimum of 5+ years of executive/c-suite, B2B solution-based selling ideally in the service industry. Sales experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, with a focus on account management and business development.
  • Deep understanding of the HBCU market, including knowledge of academic programs, campus culture, and decision-making processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Financial acumen – ability to understand operations and develop proposals
  • Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with experience leading complex sales cycles.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer-centric approach and a passion for driving positive outcomes for HBCU partners and students.
  • Flexibility to travel 70-80%, including overnight.

This is remote work from home with national travel, preferred location is the East Coast or Central US in proximity to a major airport.

COMPENSATION: The salary rate for this position ranges from $103,800 to $181,650, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting. 

 

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
