Job Description

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager leads the charge in delivering top-notch housekeeping solutions tailored to exceed customer expectations. This role involves executing housekeeping duties across overnight-stay locations, ensuring that every facility adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness and appearance.

This position requires open availability, primarily for night and weekend shifts.

 

About Asilomar Hotel & Conference Grounds:​

Asilomar is located on the Monterey Peninsula in charming Pacific Grove, California. Its restored dune ecosystem and its historic “Arts and Crafts” style architecture (designed by the world-renowned Julia Morgan) come together to make Asilomar a designated National Historic Landmark. The 107 acres of beachfront property provide endless breathtaking views and opportunities for marine wildlife watching, golfing, & meeting and conference spaces, creating a meditative, restorative, and grounding place to work. ​

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position ranges from $66,560 to $70,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.


 

Job Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, safety, OSHA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
  • Client Needs Assessment: Identify client operational needs and allocate Aramark resources accordingly.
  • Employee Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by clearly communicating objectives and methods, mentoring staff towards achieving excellence. Train team members.
  • Recognition and Reward: Collaborate with HR and management to implement programs to reward and recognize outstanding employee performance.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Uphold rigorous safety and sanitation standards in line with both Aramark and client regulations.
  • Evening Shift Management: This position will primarily work and management the night shift. Weekends as needed.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage evening housekeeping operations, addressing guest requests, coordinating with porters, and overseeing the cleaning crew.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure all linen closets are fully stocked, and audit housekeeping carts for the morning crew.
  • Task Assignment: Coordinate trash and laundry collection, allocate public space porter shifts, and handle guest requests promptly.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage payroll and PTO updates daily and oversee purchasing for operational needs.
  • Team Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication within the department and across the team.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience, including 1-2 years in a management role
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
