Production Manager- The College of Willaim and Mary

Job Description

The Production Manager position is responsible for overseeing purchasing, receiving and related aspects of Prima for the operation.  They will have direct responsibility of ensuring orders are processed through Birchstreet and the Food Budget Tool/LST are completed daily. The Production Manager will manage the receiving staff in the location and maintain positive employee relations and continuous staff education and development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Must have high-level product system, and procedural knowledge and be able to effectively communicate that knowledge to other staff members
  • Oversees ordering and receiving for the location; including, ensuring proper use of Birchstreet
  • Ensures Rigorous Receiving practices are followed and maintained
  • Assist with hiring, disciplining, development and annual review process for employees hired as Receiver/Lead Receiver
  • Responsible for food spend and cost controls around food and supply purchases
  • Manages inventory processes including proper counting and recording of weekly inventory; and, ensures Aramark inventory standards are followed
  • Primarily responsible for Prima processes; including, item maintenance, inventory sequencing, production pre and post costing, adjusting production and acceptability factors, adjusting menu as needed, creating Fall/Spring/Summer menus
  • Assists in management of food controls, food safety and waste controls/management
  • Responsible for ensuring correct portions when preparing and serving items on multiple stations/shops
  • Work directly with Accounting team on Birchstreet Accruals and any other issues related to processing/paying invoices
  • Connect with vendors regarding products and/or issues. Ensures we are compliant with product purchases
  • Assist with daily Safety observations and report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately
  • Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam, and other at risk conditions.
  • Lead in customer service excellence by example

Qualifications

  • Must be Serve Safe certified within 90 days of accepting position
  • Carrying/Lifting:  Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing:  May stand up to 6 hours at a time
  • Pushing/Pulling:  Up to 150 lbs.
  • Perform Repetitive Motion with arms or hands:  Periodically
