At Aramark, nutrition isn’t just about food – it’s about fueling wellness, health, and success. Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) bring passion, expertise, and a commitment to improving lives through nutrition to the clients, patients, and communities they serve.
Aramark’s mission is to create meaningful experiences and opportunities. Our company is powered by our people, so we value the ways our employees contribute to the development and growth of our business, and we believe in investing in our talent in return.
Left to Right: Monique Skowronski, Rahma Rekik, and Barbara Ferguson
Nutrition often refers to food, but it goes far beyond that. At Aramark, it is about fueling wellness, health, and success. Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) lead the way in bringing passion and expertise to their work because they’re committed to improving outcomes for the clients, residents, and communities they serve.
This is why we prioritize developing our RDNs across our lines of business. Their work journeys show a range of backgrounds, experiences and the supportive environments that have helped them thrive in their unique career paths. Whether or not the path is linear, Aramark RDNs have the power to grow their careers and own their experience.
Barbara Ferguson | MBA, RDN, LDN
Barbara Ferguson MBA, RDN, LDN, started as a pastry chef and worked within fine-dining, where she developed an appreciation for food and hospitality. After fifteen years, Barbara shifted to completing a nutrition and dietetics degree. Four years ago, Aramark became the right place for her because we provided the opportunity that enabled her to combine all her expertise.
Barbara shares, “Aramark allowed me to bring all the things I’m passionate about together and turn them into a career, first with Healthcare+ and now with SeniorLIFE+.” As the Director of Wellness and Clinical Nutrition within SeniorLife+ today, she consistently collaborates with colleagues in other lines of business to create the best programs for SeniorLIFE+ dietitians.
The working relationships she’s made at Aramark have shown her the concrete ways we put employees and people first. Our mission has been key driver of Barbara’s ability to create connections with dietitians throughout the enterprise that make a direct impact on how the work is done.
Monique Skowronski | MBA, RDN, LDN
Monique Skowronski MBA, RDN, LDN, shares Barbara’s feelings. Today she is the Central Region Director for Nutrition & Operational Support in our Corrections line of business. Although Monique’s daily work environment is very different from Barbara’s, the people here are what make Aramark special for Monique as well.
The working relationships have helped her explore different career paths, and that has been a standout feature of her experience here. The community mindset means Aramark dietitians can go beyond their entry roles to take positions of leadership in innovation, technology, sustainability, business strategy, or client partnerships. Monique’s current role is wide-ranging: she works closely with operations, supply chain, culinary, and client partners to develop menus, support foodservice, ensure compliance, and implement innovative solutions to business challenges.
Rahma Rekik | RDN
Before joining Aramark, Rahma Rekik RDN, worked in nutrition counseling roles across Kuwait, Tunisia, and California. Her passion for nutrition was driven by her grandmother’s battle with cancer, when she witnessed the powerful role nutrition can play in supporting recovery and quality of life.
Her career at Aramark started when she was scouted to join Aramark Collegiate Hospitality. Initially she was unfamiliar with collegiate dining as a career path, but she quickly discovered a passion for the unique opportunities the role offered. Over time, she developed her niche and discovered she genuinely loves the work. Today, Rahma is the Health and Wellness Manager and Registered Dietitian for Dining Services at the University of Virginia, helping students navigate their nutrition and wellness needs.
Like Barbara, Rahma has found a role that brings together many of her passions. “I have the opportunity to combine nutrition education, student wellness, foodservice operations, and culinary innovation in a way I hadn’t before,” she says. She, too, credits much of her professional growth to Aramark’s collaborative environment and working with colleagues who have diverse backgrounds and expertise.
While all dietitians share common education, credentials, and passions, every dietitian can have a customized career at Aramark. Whether it’s moving into a new line of business as a dietitian or moving out of the dietitian role to lead a different function, there’s a lot you can accomplish when you join Aramark. Here innovation and wellness thrive together, benefiting both our people and the communities they serve.
