How much of Aramark’s workforce is comprised of hourly employees?

Hourly employees make up approximately 90% of our global workforce, with 62% full-time and 38% part-time.

 

Aramark defines employment classifications as follows:

  • Full-Time Hourly Employee: A regular (nontemporary) hourly employee scheduled for at least 30 hours per week as reflected in the HR system.
  • Part-Time Hourly Employee: A regular (nontemporary) hourly employee scheduled for fewer than 30 hours per week as reflected in the HR system.

How are hourly team members compensated at Aramark?

Hourly pay rates differ depending on the role and location. In the U.S., average wages are well above the federal minimum wage. We recognize the essential role these team members play across our operations so we also strive to ensure they have access to meaningful benefits and opportunities for career growth.

How is career growth encouraged among hourly employees in the U.S.?

Aramark provides educational tools and comprehensive development programs that help employees grow their careers and achieve long-term compensation growth. Specific programs may vary by location depending on client arrangements or union agreements.

 

Our educational tools include:

  • Our Frontline Education Program, which provides eligible hourly employees full tuition coverage to earn an undergraduate degree from Arizona State University (ASU) Online
  • A high school diploma and career preparation certification through Smart Horizons Online High School
  • Short-course learning options
  • An English-language learning program

Do hourly employees receive medical benefits?

Aramark offers a range of medical plan options designed to meet the varying needs of our population. Generally, U.S. hourly employees are eligible for medical benefits if they average 30 or more hours per week.

Are hourly employees entitled to paid time off?

We understand the importance of work/life balance and time away from work. For U.S. hourly team members, time-off policies are managed locally and may vary by location.

 

Where applicable, hourly employees are provided with paid time off as required by law or a collective bargaining agreement.  Additionally, locations may adopt one of several Aramark standardized policies that provide options for vacation and/or PTO (aka sick leave).  The standardized vacation policies start at five days accrual per year and the PTO/sick leave plans provide between three and six days per year. PTO generally stars accruing after one month of service.
