Journeyman HVAC Maintenance Worker - Spring Hill College - Facilities

Job Description

Aramark is hiring an experienced HVAC Technician to support facilities operations at Spring Hill College. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, with a strong emphasis on refrigeration equipment and small appliance repair within a higher education campus environment.

This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and working in a stable, campus-based setting with predictable hours.

Work Location: Spring Hill College – Mobile, AL

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly

This position pays $20 to $25 per hour based on experience. 

Job Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, tests, operates, and repairs all refrigeration and related equipment for preserving food, making ice, cooling water, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation.
• Calibrates, repairs, and maintains all pneumatic control systems and related equipment.
• Checks, services, cleans, and replaces filters in all A/C air handling and heating units and documents the same.
• Cleans and maintains grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
• Understands and demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes and practices, and coordinates work between/with other trades.
• Completes preventative maintenance as scheduled and keeps records
• Responds to any emergency repair/maintenance situation as required
• Maintains critical inventory needed to keep operations running; maintains and accounts for tools used
• Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers

Qualifications

• HVAC/Refrigeration Certification – Required

• Previous HVAC maintenance experience required

• Strong experience with refrigeration systems and small appliance repair

• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration principles

• Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to follow safety procedures due to physical job demands

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
