Steward Supervisor III - Overland Park Convention Center

Job Description

The Steward Lead oversees the sanitation operations at the location and coordinates the timing of tasks to ensure their completion. The lead steward cross-trains employees in all utility positions including dishwashers, sanitation, table attendants, and beverage station workers. 

Job Responsibilities

The Lead Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all stewarding operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all kitchen and utility areas.  This position provides strategic direction, supervision, and support to Steward Supervisors and their teams.  This role will collaborate closely with the Culinary Managers and Executive Chefs to maintain an efficient and compliant back-of-house environment.  This position will ensure that stewarding operations align with food safety regulations, company policies, and operational goals.

Qualifications

• Lead the Stewarding Supervisors and their teams across multiple shifts or outlets.
• Assist with the development and implementation of cleaning schedules, sanitation protocols, and waste management systems to maintain a safe and hygienic enviroment.
• Ensure all stewarding activities comply with local health department regulations and internal safety standards.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of stewarding staff.  Ensure cross-training is effectively executed.
• Monitor inventory and requisitioned supplies, equipment, and cleaning products in alignment with budget and operational needs.
• Evaluate performance of stewarding team members and provide coaching, feedback, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Assist in planning special events and high-volume service periods, ensuring adequate staffing and support.
• Assist with daily safety observations and report safety hazards to management immediately.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
