Job Description: 

Aramark Sports and Entertainment is seeking two experienced and dependable Line Cooks for its Blacksmith Catering BBQ Trailer. Operating at Crystal Reservoir on Pikes Peak during the summer and traveling to Colorado Springs, Denver, and Pueblo for events in the off-season, this position plays a key role in delivering bold BBQ flavors and top-tier guest service. 

As a Line Cook, you’ll work alongside the Pitmaster to prepare all non-smoked menu items—including signature burgers, fried sides, and festival favorites—while maintaining a clean and efficient cook station. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for those with high energy and a passion for food.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 to $23.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.​

Job Responsibilities

• Arrive by 9:00 AM daily to assist with food prep and kitchen setup. 
• Cook menu items on the grill, fryer, and flat-top according to standardized recipes. 
• Prep ingredients, buns, condiments, and sides ahead of service. 
• Assist the Pitmaster with meat handling and plating during high-volume times. 
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of your station and all equipment. 
• Support post-service cleanup including dishwashing, wiping surfaces, and organizing supplies. 
• Follow all food safety and Aramark cleanliness standards. 
• Communicate clearly with the Pitmaster and front-of-house staff to ensure timely, accurate orders. 
• Be flexible to assist with setup, breakdown, or restocking at mobile events outside Pikes Peak. 

Menu Highlights You’ll Help Prepare: 

• Signature Burgers like the Alpine Melt, Bigfoot’s Breath, and Timberline Temptation 
• Fried sides and appetizers: onion rings, fried pickles, fried okra, mozzarella sticks 
• Hearty BBQ sides: mac & cheese, potato salad, coleslaw, BBQ beans, creamed corn 
• Specialty items such as Loaded Pitmaster Tots and kids’ meals

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food truck, fast-casual kitchen, or high-volume line cook role 
• Strong understanding of grill and fryer operations 
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and adjust quickly to rushes 
• Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification required after employment) 
• Ability to lift 40 lbs., work on your feet for long shifts, and tolerate variable weather 
• Must have reliable transportation to Crystal Reservoir and mobile event locations 
• Willingness to travel throughout Colorado (travel reimbursement may apply) 

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting mobile food trailers or outdoor kitchens 

• Familiarity with BBQ service or supporting a Pitmaster 

• Interest in year-round employment across multiple seasonal sites

Site-Specific Information – Blacksmith Catering at Crystal Reservoir

Located at 9,200 feet on the Pikes Peak Highway, Crystal Reservoir is a major summer attraction known for its stunning views and mountain lake setting. The Blacksmith Catering BBQ Trailer serves hungry visitors with authentic smoked meats, signature burgers, and hearty sides from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 

From October to May, the trailer transitions to festivals, concerts, and special events across Colorado Springs, Denver, and Pueblo, giving the Line Cook a consistent, year-round role in a dynamic culinary environment. 

Team members are responsible for their own transportation. Carpooling to Crystal Reservoir is encouraged due to limited parking.
