Job Description

Avendra is North America’s leading hospitality procurement services provider. Avendra was founded in 2001 by hospitality management companies looking to leverage buying power and create efficiencies in supply chain management. Acquired by Aramark in 2017, Avendra now manages supplier contracts and sourcing responsibilities for Aramark businesses in North America, other group purchasing organizations owned by Aramark, as well as our traditional hospitality clients. We combine years of hospitality expertise, purchasing power, services and software to help customers impact the bottom line, improve operational performance, and better serve guests and customers. Avendra is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland and employs about 400 associates. 
 
The Manager, Business Development is responsible for new business development for hospitality clientele by cold calling, prospecting, needs assessments, presentations, and closing new deals for the hospitality industry - hotels, resorts, casinos, theme parks, and more! 
 
Position Reports to Director of Business Development

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform research to develop leads, deploy proactive selling strategies and respond to inbound Growth Account leads and manage a portfolio of prospective accounts to sign up new accounts and meet individual and team revenue goals
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales strategies and awareness campaigns to generate new Growth Account leads
    • Support sales effort to franchisees of major Franchised Brand companies
    • Coordinate with Avendra’s supplier community to support initiatives in the small lodging market
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales messaging in alignment with Avendra’s value proposition
  • Manage entire Growth Account pipeline tool to report progress and status of segment for management

 

Secondary Responsibilities 

  • Develop relationships with client decision-makers and influencers
  • Coordinate limited market basket analysis on selected accounts and utilize Avendra’s BEST tool where appropriate to demonstrate potential value to prospects
  • Work with Implementation and Customer Support to seamlessly transition accounts
  • Utilize DocuSign to complete routing for signature execution and tracking of SCSAs

Qualifications

  • Direct customer facing experience in person or by phone
  • Demonstrate abilities in the area of “solution selling” and strong negotiation skills
  • Experience supporting complex sales with multiple buying influences
  • Must have excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Office based with the possibility of minimal travel 25%
  • Knowledge of lodging and hospitality needs a plus
  • Presentation skills

 

Overnight Travel Requirements.  Type: All modes of transportation, percentage 10-25%, length: 1-2 nights

 

Years of Relevant Experience.    5-8 Years of experience – with 3-5 years of direct sales or related experience

 

Education Requirements.   BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years experience
