As a Health & Wellness Student Intern, you will assist the Monarch Dining Registered Dietitian with nutrition-related events across campus. Responsibilities will include event planning, marketing, nutrition education, and execution. This position is ideal for a student interested in pursuing work in the health and wellness field.

Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by location based on client requirements and business needs.  

Job Responsibilities

· Collaborate with Registered Dietitian (RD) and other interns to plan and execute tabling events at campus dining locations and other university events

· Support the RD in educating students regarding healthy food choices available on campus

· Ensure proper food handling during food sampling events

· Create educational social media posts and other materials using Canva

· Conduct audits at campus dining locations on a regular basis

· Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-worker, etc.

· Support the RD in the development of Training Table and in providing nutritional guidance to student athletes

· Assist in preparing nutrition education material for distribution to student athletes

Qualifications

· Strong passion for nutrition, health, and wellness

· Enthusiastic about engaging and motivating students at events

· Demonstrates a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude with students, clients, and colleagues

· Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team

· Excellent communication skills with managers, faculty, and students

· Self-motivated, proactive, and consistently punctual

This role may have physical demands including, but not limiting to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

*Occasional weekend shifts are necessary.
