Job Description

Director of Operational Excellence, Correctional Services
 
The Director of Operational Excellence will lead and support the advancement of food service, retail food, commissary programs, and labor management within Correctional Services. This role involves collaboration with Lines of Business (LOB) leadership, Hospitality Enablement teams, and Regional Operations Support Managers to implement, monitor, and refine tools and processes.

Job Responsibilities

Performance Management:

  • Ensure food and labor productivity performance across the LOB.
  • Provide direct support to achieve measurable performance goals in each region.

Account Remediation:

  • Identify underperforming accounts and create actionable improvement plans.

Monitoring & Accountability:

  • Facilitate regular performance reviews to drive accountability and progress.
  • Analyze key metrics and behaviors to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.

Collaboration:

  • Partner with Regional Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents of Operations, District Managers, and Operations Support Managers to ensure alignment and accountability.

Standards Development:

  • Develop, train, and implement operational standards.
  • Emphasize execution of standards that improve margins and achieve client outcomes.

Liaison Role:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for productivity, operational, and operational excellence (OpX) initiatives with Regional Leadership.

Leadership & Training:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and personnel development capabilities.
  • Manage, utilize, and train on programs, systems, and operational procedures.

Travel Requirements:

  • Be available to travel 30-50% of the time.

Influence & Strategy:

  • Influence stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Adapt high-level business strategies to specific operational tactics.

Project Management:

  • Manage projects to meet objectives, budgets, and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of operations experience with a proven record of driving performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent leadership, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Experience in people development and training.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to a dynamic environment.

This role requires a mature, dynamic leader capable of balancing strategic goals with hands-on operational oversight to ensure excellence within Correctional Services.
