Student Sustainability Engagement Intern - UCF Dining

Job Description

The Student Sustainability Engagement Intern will assist the Marketing Managers to ensure Aramark / UCF Dining’s sustainability marketing needs are met. This position will primarily assist with planning and promoting sustainability-oriented events as well as creating marketing material about UCF Dining sustainability initiatives. The Sustainability Engagement Intern must be a student at UCF University and possess excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist Marketing Manager with coordinating and executing marketing campaigns on campus.
• Help plan and execute events, including educational tables, farmer’s markets, residential theme events, etc.
• Collaborate with graphic designer to develop and distribute signage on campus.
• Create education and outreach materials as needed
• Assist in planning for reoccurring events
• Act as a liaison between UCF Dining and campus partners, students, and community members.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Find opportunities to collaborate with community and campus partners.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and regular weekly project team meetings.
• Develop a basic knowledge of sustainability and environmental principles (no prior sustainability knowledge is necessary for this assistantship).
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Marketing manager

Qualifications

• Must be a current UCF Student
• Big-picture thinking with holistic ideas for student engagement and the over-sustainability initiative
• Creative marketing skills
• Organized and efficient worker; ability to keep track of multiple projects and tasks
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient in MS office
• Ability to work both independently and on a team

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
