Job Description

The CDL Driver is responsible for driving a Blue Bird School Bus that requires a CDL to transport guests and employees to and from The Airport, Ferry, Glacier Bay Lodge and Town stops as needed. 

About Glacier Bay Lodge & Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve:

Ever wish you had more daylight hours? With 18 hours of daylight during the summer, recreation and sightseeing opportunities are never-ending! Glacier Bay Lodge is a small 50-room lodge nestled in between coastal mountains, incredible fjords, and Alaska's Inside Passage and is a remote wilderness experience you don’t want to miss. The only way to travel to us is by air or sea from Juneau to the friendly little town of Gustavus, your Gateway to Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve.

 

Celebrate the Centennial/100-year anniversary of this beautiful park while enjoying everything this remote park has to offer!  With brand new housing and upgraded internet connectivity now available, become a part of our small family of around 50 employees for the summer of a lifetime!

This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of  May 9 - September 10, 2025

Employees are responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position.  Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training.

Job Responsibilities

•    Operates a company vehicle, typically a Blue Bird School Bus.
•    Responsible for the safe transportation of guest, employees, and/or goods and luggage.
•    Assist guests with inquiries about the property/area.
•    Maintains cleanliness, fuels, and performs inspections on vehicle.
•    Adheres to policies and procedures regarding emergency and accident procedures and radio protocol.
•    Performs all job duties in a safe manner by adhering to all driving regulations, company safety policies and procedures, and DOT regulations.
•    Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive demeanor towards guests, clients, and co-workers.

Qualifications

•    One year (non-consecutive) verifiable CDL experience required.
•    Previous customer service experience preferred.
•    Must possess a valid CDL.
•    Minimum of 23 years of age.
•    No suspension of driving privileges for moving violations in the past 3 years.
•    Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
