Salaried
Assist in managing the overall commissary operations and services within the state. Support the General Manager in supervising staff, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Assist in supervising, training, scheduling, and hiring Full-Time and Part-Time commissary staff. • Aid in overseeing on-site commissary delivery operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to established guidelines. • Help establish and maintain local operating policies and procedures related to delivery, training, security, and safety. • Support compliance with local business requirements, including licensing, insurance, and regulatory documentation. • Assist in ensuring contract compliance in all areas of commissary operations. • Contribute to inventory control efforts, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and processing orders. • Participate in long-range planning and review of current operations to optimize efficiency. • Ensure that staff follow facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Assist in distributing commissary menus and order forms according to approved schedules. • Support the resolution of inmate complaints or grievances within a 24-hour timeframe. • Ensure proper handling and return of credited products to the Distribution Center. • Help maintain open communication and act as a liaison with onsite operators and USCS leadership. • Assist in reviewing and approving payroll reports and timesheets for submission in Kronos. • Participate in employee performance reviews for commissary staff. • Ensure proper maintenance of USCS-controlled areas, equipment, and products in accordance with facility and company standards. • Assist in conducting on-site security and training classes and maintaining required records. • Support regular staff meetings and ensure clear communication across all levels of the commissary staff. • Ensure administrative tasks are completed in compliance with company policies and local operating procedures. • Assist in developing plans for emergency commissary deliveries, bulk deliveries, and unanticipated security incidents. • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Ability to work well with all levels of staff within the USCS organization and the correctional facility.
• Strong supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and get results through others.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with inventory management.
• Experience working in a correctional facility is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must pass a correctional facility security clearance and maintain a facility security ID.
• Must pass a drug screening test.
