Accounting Coordinator Assistant - The College of William & Mary

Job Description

The Accounting Coordinator Assistant will assist in the supervision and control of general office functions. Responsible for specific duties such as A/P, sales reporting, and inventory. Supervises day-to-day data collection and completes basic accounting functions and reports. Assist with A/R as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Daily duties such as sales data retrieval and entry, accounts payable, flow of correspondence, filing, and other clerical services. • Formulates procedures for detailed retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records. • Assists unit management in the preparation of organizational invoices and monthly financial and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

• Assist with adding new vendors to the system to ensure they are set up correctly to include their payment terms. • Compile, store, and retrieve Sales/AP reports, strong organizational skills is a must

• Assist the Accounting Coordinator to ensure that all weekly data is correct and accurately recorded

• Occasionally assist as needed for special events. Football games and/or major College events.

• Assist with the needs of the operational team, as needed • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Use logical thinking to perform a variety of office tasks that require special skills and knowledge
•    Make decisions based on company policy and good judgment
•    Follow instructions without close supervision
•    Speak and write clearly and accurately
•    Plan your own work and sometimes the work of others
•    Proficient with all Microsoft Applications
•    Requires basic accounting skills. 
•    Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Write announcements, letters, summaries, and reports, using prescribed format
•    Minimum 2 years experience preferred 4 years exirience.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
