Job Summary:

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for payroll related matters and other assigned duties within the Finance or Administration areas of the Company. The Payroll Clerk performs a wide variety of tasks related to employee/payroll records.  This position will prepare, process, and maintain Payroll Standards and Compliance in executing tasks to accurately pay assigned employees and stay current with Aramark payroll and payroll-related systems.


Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current and strong working knowledge of Union Contracts and Aramark policies and procedures
  • Maintain current, general knowledge of Payroll and Labor compliance matters
  • Collect, file and safeguard all payroll related documentation
  • Prepare labor reports in a complete, accurate and timely manner
  • Process all other hourly and manager payroll-related changes in accordance with Aramark policy and procedures
  • Track the compliance to wage and hour measures; report to management areas that need follow up
  • Process other-pay and deductions with proper support (i.e, commissions, gratuities)
  • Transmit the bi-weekly Payroll file in a timely manner; ensuring the location payroll being processed according to the schedule
  • Manage and report to AP all TJV’s related to shared labor
  • Process pay and benefit adjustments with proper support and in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Maintain benefit time tracking logs; provide salaried management with periodic summaries of outstanding Vacation, PTO, and Floating Holidays
  • Maintain compliance with SOX and Aramark Internal Controls; advise management of potential areas of non-compliance
  • Process EDD information requests
  • Prepare various reports as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to meet deadlines; and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to focus on numbers/counts for extended periods and pay attention to detail

Required / Expected Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience processing payroll, data entry, taxes (multi-state), union dues, garnishments, and year-end processing using an automated payroll system
  • Prior experience in a high-volume/fast-paced environment required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Background check required
