Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant must be able to work independently and coordinate with all managers and staff.  Reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail are necessary, as is the ability to quickly learn a hotel system and other software systems.  Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential. Manage all reporting for environmental and sustainability, follow up on all purchase orders and reconcile received goods with Purchasing Supervisor.  Work closely with HR Manager, Accounting Manager and General Manager on all day to day functions.
Essential Functions:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Answering multiple lines, receiving and confirming menu orders, answering voicemails and returning calls as needed, etc.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer
  • Ability to learn new software as needed
  • Suite Wizard or similar catering software proficient preferred but not required
  • Point of sale experience preferred but not required
  • Basic food, spirits, beer and wine knowledge
  • Available to work nights and weekends in accordance to the baseball schedule
  • Available all game dates of Houston Astros home games, schedule available online
  • Ability to drive sales revenue through marketing of special promotions, consistent upselling, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: billing for non-suite related special & game day events, creating menu identifiers for upcoming events, creating event files for non-suite related events, tasks and assignments as assigned by manager and Director of Sales
  • Opportunities for event-based employment to continue in the fall as needed
  • Great resume building for business, sales and hospitality experience 


Prior experience and understanding of  Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel.
