Pier One 11 and Special Events Supervisor


Position Summary: The Pier One 11 and Special Events Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of Pier One11, managing V.I.P. guests and services, managing Pier One 11 staff and Private Captains, organizing special events on the docks and employee functions throughout the season. The Special Events and Concierge Manager is responsible for creating a positive work environment while making sure all functions of the V.I.P. operation run smoothly by holding team members accountable, ensuring guest satisfaction and daily leadership.

Essential Functions:
Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee Pier One 11 by implementing and supervising a successful V.I.P. membership program and being the single point of contact for the V.I.P. guests to satisfy their specific needs and wants.
  • Ensure and complete all billing and work orders, for Pier One 11 are processed correctly and closed in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and participate in the airport pickups and any additional services for V.I.P clientele.
  • Post positions, interview and hire for Pier One 11 staff along with maintaining the Private Captain Program.
  • Maintain form and rate updates that pertain to Pier One 11 and V.I.P. Services.
  • Carry out projects for Marina Manager relating to technology/software advancements and updates for the marina that include dock placement and upgrades.
  • Oversee Marina operations in the absence of Marina Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • If needed, assist in the training of office agents, dockhands, cart attendants, porters, captains, cleaners and cross training between these positions as much as possible.
  • Confirm scheduling and payroll is submitted weekly while upholding wage and hour policy with strong attention to detail.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through daily chore assignments and safety meetings.
  • Help develop strong team morale through positive reinforcement, reward, and recognition.
  • Effectively communicate with employees by holding employees accountable through disciplinary action with coaching forms.
  • Pier One 11 Supervisor must have high level of customer service skills to deal with a wide variety of issues that may arise. These issues should be handled appropriately through excellent customer service skills and ultimately represent Lake Powell Resorts and Marina in a positive manner.
  • Able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the Kronos and Dock Master systems.
  • Must be honest, dependable and forthright, with the ability to confidently work without direct supervision.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule.
  • Attend weekly leadership meetings.
  • Report to work on time and in the appropriate work attire.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marina Management.

Status and Scope:

  • Reports to Assistant Marina Manager and Director of Marina Operations.
  • Able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment and possesses the necessary skills.
  • Able to work varied shifts and days off according to business demand.
  • Cannot be prone to motion sickness as they will be performing majority of work on the dock



  • Ideal candidates will have one year supervisory/management experience in the hospitality guest services field.
  • Strong English communication skills are required - must have the ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
  • Supervisory/management experience required.
  • Very good computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Excellent guest service skills with the ability to deal effectively with other company personnel.

Equipment Used:  Company Vehicles, Calculator, Hand Truck, Computer, Photocopier, Printer, Pallet jack, Telephone, Golf Cart, ATV, Etc.

Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

Lifting Requirements: MEDIUM Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
