The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the operation and safety of vessels, crew and guests. This person will work with the Supervisory Captain, Marina Manager and to ensure the highest level of customer service and safety.
Oversees the operation and safety of vessel at all times
Oversees utmost care of customer/client vessels
Oversees preventative maintenance and logs.
Maintains all vessel logs, Helm logs and maintenance logs
Must know Federal rules and regulations, rules of the road, charts and postings necessary for vessel operations
Conduct daily safety meetings with crew - mentors dockhands
Understand the fire system, bilge system and how they operate
Build a team environment in the work areas.
Assist in any needs of management for the vessels.
Create a friendly and informative environment by greeting guests, answering all guest’s questions.
Keep crew aware of schedules, duties and logs-communication is key.
Arrive neat and in a clean uniform
Handle all guest and employee issues in a professional manner
Status and Scope:
This position reports to the Supervisory Captain on the Charles Hall that oversees boat operations, must be able to work with diverse workforce and apply all policies and procedures to this population. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
100T USCG Master's License Required Minimum
Towing Endorsement highly preferred
Must be fluent in the English language in speaking, reading and writing
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must possess a 100 Ton Coast Guard License or higher and be proficient in boat maintenance and navigation
Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of coast guard laws and safety regulations
Must be able to demonstrate navigation of Lake Powell
Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool
Must have a valid US Driver's License and pass a Motor Vehicle Record history check
Clean Motor Vehicle Record Required
MEDIUM - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25
