Job Summary: Bell Staff should be highly visible on resort grounds, lobby, parking lot, and readily available to assist hotel guests with luggage, resort information and other requests. Bell Staff must be able to interact and engage positively with our hotel guests and be highly knowledgeable on all aspect and services for Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas and the surrounding area. Bell Staff must maintain high level of professionalism and provide excellent guest services to all visitors to Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas. Bellman may also be responsible for ensuring cleaning and maintenance equipment is organized and stored safely. They must maintain safe and clean areas and report any safety concerns or violations as soon as possible. They are expected to perform some basic maintenance and janitorial duties. Bellmen assists the lodge team with all guests requests and will assist in various departments as needed. Bell Staff are highly motivated and are productive throughout the day.


  • Provide luggage assistance and other services to all hotel guests
  • Bring room amenities to guests and ensure guest needs are met.
  • Provide guest with directions and information on attractions in the surrounding area.
  • Greet guests, guide them to check-in or their room and explain amenities and services.
  • Lift, carry and transport luggage which may weigh over 60 pounds to all lodge buildings up and down at least one flight of stairs.
  • Move luggage to and from guest’s room and vehicle
  • Oversee luggage check service - tag and check luggage
  • Deliver luggage and guest request items to guests’ rooms
  • Door service, greeting guest at the main entrance and offering their assistance
  • Assist with Front Desk needs
  • Assist with Housekeeping needs
  • Assist with Lodge Maintenance needs
  • Deliver room amenities, bedding, towels, rollaway beds, basic maintenance needs, and anything else the guest requests to be comfortable in the room
  • Ensure cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere of the resort by removing trash and debris from the parking lot and lodge buildings
  • Effectively communicate with guests, employees, tour directors and vendors to ensure all guests receive prompt and courteous service
  • Go the extra mile and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain positive attitude in high stress situations
  • Diplomatically handle guest complaints such as lost luggage – always be polite and maintain a professional manner
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner
  • May sometimes be required to train other Bellmen
  • Must be flexible - willing to work a varied schedule
  • Report to work in proper uniform and name tag
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bellmen report to Front Desk Lead and/or Front Desk Supervisor
  • Bellmen need to be comfortable being on their feet all day, carrying and lifting heavy luggage and guest items which may exceed 60 pounds in weight
  • Great guest service skills are essential – Bellman need to be able to handle and resolve any guest service situations that may arise
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, productive and highly engages with guests and staff



  • At least 21 years of age

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Previous hotel experience in guest service field is preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License (motor vehicle check required)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  Little or no travel required (less than 10%)
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:  VERY HEAVY Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
