Position Summary: Marina Store Cashiers sell food, merchandise, and accessories to guests. Marina Cashiers are flexible, willing to help out wherever needed. They may require cross training to perform Marina Services Worker tasks, which include working as Fuel Attendants, Dock Hand or Cart Driver whenever needed. Marina Cashiers are attentive – dedicated to delivering the highest levels of guest service and are always willing to answer questions and resolve guest issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Warmly welcome, smile and greet all guests – W.E.S.T
  • Assist guests with purchase of food and merchandise
  • Cashiers should be highly knowledgeable about the marina and the surrounding areas. This includes but is not limited to: retail, the lodge, food & beverage opening hours and services, tours and activities and surrounding area amenities.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of all products and services offered in order to constantly up sell
  • Maintain a daily bank and be accountable for all transactions
  • Handle cash, traveler’s checks and credit cards in a safe and accurate manner
  • Must be proficient in counting money, able to provide guests with change whenever needed and make accurate cash deposits at the end of shift; ensuring all required paperwork is completed
  • Cashiers must ensure a clean and pleasant atmosphere of the marina store at all times
  • Maintain daily side work –ensure any required temp logs are completed in a timely manner and complete any restocking and cleaning duties
  • Assist with checking in orders received - verify order count and input in receiving log
  • May be required to assist with completing quarterly inventories
  • Identify safety issues and take the correct steps to correct them
  • Maintain a positive attitude – always be willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed
  • Go the extra mile and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Diplomatically handle guest complaints – always be polite and maintain a professional manner
  • Thank all guests and say goodbye as they leave
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner
  • Must be honest, dependable and forthright, with the ability to confidently work without direct supervision
  • Report to work on time and in proper uniform
  • May be required to assist in other departments when needed.
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security and emergencies.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, according to business demand, including weekends, holidays, and on call shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Status and Scope:

  • Must have strong organization, customer service and communication skills and be able to interact with a diverse workforce and customer base with a positive attitude.
  • Willing to gain a good understanding of Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas and surrounding area, becoming fully knowledgeable on the area’s history, activities and amenities.
  • Must be committed to providing excellent customer service.   



  • Must be fluent in the English language in speaking, reading and writing.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Cannot be prone to motion sickness or seasickness.
  • Must be comfortable being on their feet all day.
  • Must be able to work long days.
  • Must be able to complete and pass TIPS alcohol course and ServSafe food training.

Equipment Used: Retail Pro Cash Register, Scanners, Hand Cart, Box Cutter, Computer, Calculator, etc. 


Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

Lifting Requirements: MEDIUM WEIGHT - Lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 25 pounds of more.
