Description:

Position Summary: This positions welcomes and accommodates guests and staff in an effective and courteous manner. Directly participates in daily retail operation of boats and activities area. Answers external and internal phone calls. Provides guest services at the resort so each staff member and guest experiences a positive impression of the facility. Works in conjunction with all guest service employees.  This position will also ensure the highest standards of customer service while facilitating the boat rental process.  
 
 
Essential Functions:

  • Knowledgeable about the area from ecological, geological, historical, and cultural perspectives and presents this information to guests
  • Assist management in implementing activities surrounding the lake: interpretive programs, hikes, boating, biking and other area programming.
  • Responsible for the rental of kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, bikes etc. and enforcing safety with guests who participate
  • Lead hikes, campfire programs, paddle boat tours, and/or other area tours/programs for guests as directed by management
  • Communicate with guests providing knowledge about lodge, activities, and surrounding area, as well as instructional information in regards to boat rentals.
  • Must display a working knowledge of emergency procedures so that employee and guest safety will be insured.
  • Must closely monitor guests using rental equipment and participating in programs or tours.
  • Must be comfortable working outside and standing, walking, and hiking for long periods of time.
  • Maintains adequate cash bank to support the guest service needs and follows all cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with Front Desk, Maintenance, and/or Housekeeping as needed when directed by management
  • Communicates closely with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Responsible for cleaning projects assigned by management.
  • Maintains quality assurance by reporting/handling issues and guest complaints according to standard processes.
  • Follows ARAMARK procedures and safety policies.
  • May be required to work a flexible and rotational schedule, including being required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
  • Operates motor boat as needed
  • Empties trash and recycling located around the location
  • Responsible for cleaning projects assigned by management.
  • Maintains quality assurance by reporting/handling issues and guest complaints according to standard processes.
  • Employee is responsible for general knowledge of corporate environmental policies and procedures and how they relate to their job functions.
  • Employee is responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by manager during EMS training.
  • Environmental objectives and targets will be communicated by managers for each department during EMS training.


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Two years’ experience in like employment
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations
  • Passion and knowledge regarding interpretive programs, conservation, and the National Park System
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.  Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Associates Degree in Hospitality, Business or related field
  • Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder preferred
  • Proven ability as an interpretive guide/interpretive planner and program development
