Description:

SUMMARY:

The Procurement Associate Specialist is responsible for supply chain operations in support of GM Flint Assembly operations. Achievement of quality, cost reduction, and delivery objectives are of primary importance.

Ensures the daily reconciliation of supplier invoices
•	Maintain monthly inventory of secured Procurement locations
•	Responsible for setting up new vendors in the Supply Chain Management system
•	Leads daily review of open requests and ensures timely purchase order submissions to vendors
•	Maintains strong relationships with customers, suppliers, colleagues and management
•	Communicates regularly with the Front Line Managers and Suppliers
•	Processes purchase orders daily; communicates in verbal and written form with suppliers; verifies proper approval authorizations prior to purchase
•	Support operations managers with the maintenance expense reporting system.
•	Assists accounts payable team with issue resolution to ensure timely shipment of orders from suppliers
•	Check in supply deliveries 
•	Other duties as assigned

  • Exceptional technical aptitude; ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Expertise in procurement of goods and services in a manufacturing environment
  • Competency with the MS Office suite and the ability to analyze data
  • Two or more years of college education
  • Two or more years customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic accounting skills
  • SAP and Maximo experience preferred
