Position Summary: This position is part of the documentation department and documentation staff.  The documentation dept. is responsible for taking manifests from tour companies and building busses for DNHT/TWT tours.   This department also prints the tickets and then distributes these to various locations in the Denali Park area.   The documentation department will also function as the in-park call center, taking reservations for Joint Venture and DPR activities.  Customer service and trouble-shooting will be a significant part of the position
Essential Functions:

  • Develop knowledge of SMS reservation system, and take reservations over the phone.
  • Ability to print and distribute tour tickets in a timely manner.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by Wilderness Access Center Manager.
  • Employee is responsible for general knowledge of corporate environmental policies and procedures and how they relate to their job functions.  Corporate policies and procedures are posted on bulletin boards or can be accessed at dpr.web.
  • Employee is responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position.  Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training.
  • Environmental objectives and targets will be communicated by dept. managers for each dept. during EMS training.
  • Employee will have no less than 1 performance review per season to include an evaluation of performance standards as they relate to work instructions addressing their department’s environmental aspects.  Employee will be aware of environmental objectives and targets within their department and how the objectives and targets affect their job performance.   

Status and Scope:

  • Reports to Wilderness Access Center Manager


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have attention to detail.  Must also be able to multi-task when required.
  • Strong ability to effectively execute MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel programs.  Ability to utilize in-house computer system, ROVER program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience and/or desire to work in tourism industry preferable.

Travel Requirements:   Little or No Travel (>10%)
Lifting Requirements:  
SEDENTARY - Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying small items (files, manuals, binders)

  • Frequent: bending, keying, hearing, reaching, seeing, speaking, standing, walking and lifting
