GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Subway Supervisor supervises the operations of the restaurant to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards of Subway are maintained. This may include scheduling and supervising staff. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all tasks and responsibilities of a SANDWICH ARTIST® PRO as outlined in SANDWICH ARTIST® PRO job description.
Trains newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists™ in their tasks and responsibilities.
Practices inventory control standards
In charge of baking procedures and new promotions stated by franchaisee
Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
Schedules and supervises staff as needed.
Performs paperwork duties as needed WISR.
Completes University of Subway® courses as directed.
Place orders and ensures proper rotation of it.
Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Ensure storage of food in a proper and sanitary manner
Organize and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment at the regularly scheduled intervals
Ensure they understand proper food handling
Ensure daily cleaning and sterilization of all dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils
Promote good public relations
Maintain a constant sense of cost control
Adhere to the uniform policy
May wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use
May bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries
Other related duties as assigned
MUST BE ABLE TO:
- Skillfully use hand tools or machines needed for your work
- Read instructions for items to be made
- Use math to calculate change
- Work with client(s) with tact and diplomacy
- Perform work that is routine and organized
Lifting twenty (20) pounds unassisted and more with assistance; frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds
Reaching, handling, seeing, standing, walking
- Great customer service and communication skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Serve Safe Certification
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Food service experience
- High school education or equivalent
Work Environment: Most often works in front-of-house. Requires frequent
lifting/transporting hot food items, ability to work inside kitchen area, interact with heated equipment, steam, loud noise, chemicals and other at risk conditions. Involves repetitive motion.
