Job Summary:  Bussers are responsible for assisting in serving food and beverages in accordance with Aramark and client standards.  


Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Assists all staff, particulary servers and waitstaff, in their designated responsibilities to ensure complete guest satisfaction and efficient operation
  • Assures that work area is clean and all foods/beverages are handled in compliance with the local health code
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with peers, supervisors and guests
  • Organized, with strong attention to detail Ability to maintain calm demeanor in fast paced, sometimes challenging environments
  • Strong ability to work well independently and make a solid contribution toward the goals of the team
    • On Going
      • Work as part of a team to ensure timely set-up, breakdown and clean-up of designated function area
      • Follow instructions as provided by Captain
      • Maintain active presence during pre-shift meetings conducted by Captain or Management to learn and understand function particulars, client needs or expectations
      • Perform miscellaneous side work including but not limited to polishing glassware and flatware, folding napkins, refilling condiments, cleaning décor items, cleaning and organizing equipment, stacking and setting up tables and chairs
      • Assist with movement of food, beverage and equipment from kitchen or storage area to service area
      • Adhere to all building and company specific safety practices and work in a safe manner
      • Maintain compliance with state, federal and company-specific wage and hour guidelines
      • Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, management before, during and after event
      • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Captain or Manager
    • Pre-Event
      • Set up and maintain service stations
      • Set tables with all required china, glass and silverware
      • Build and set condiment areas
      • Set up and maintain back of house areas, including but not limited to bus stations, trash areas, scullery
      • Assist with movement of food, beverage and equipment from kitchen or storage area to service area
    • During Event
      • Receive and clear trays, glassware and plates
      • Properly sort china, glass and silver into designated holding areas
      • Ensure prompt removal of trash and soiled equipment
      • Maintain clean and clear floor space in high volume foot traffic areas
    • Post Event
      • Return all tabletop items, linen and equipment to designated storage area(s)
      • Assist with clean up and organization of event area, back of house area and Catering Pantry
      • Assist with movement of food, beverage and equipment from service area to kitchen or storage area

  • Must be TEAM certified or be able to obtain TEAM certification before first day of work (TEAM training is provided at the location)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, evenings, and weekends
