Position Summary:
Linen Supervisors are responsible for supervising the delivery of all linens for the hospital. This includes ensuring that all linens are delivered to hospital-department linen closets in accordance with the highest cleanliness standards to ensure patient and associate satisfaction. Laundry Supervisors are also required to ensure that all daily laundry procedures and policies are followed. Laundry Supervisors may also be required to perform administrative and Laundry Technician duties when necessary.
Essential Functions:

  • The position is primarily second shift
  • Assists the Associate Linen Manager with daily duties.
  • Assures that all employees (linen technicians) report to duty punctually, well-groomed, and in proper attire and is responsible to the conduct and behavior of said staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of schedules, duties, apparel, appearance, and conduct of all linen staff.
  • Assists in the training of all ARAMARK, NPS, and OSHA policies and procedures pertaining to employment, safety, and sanitation.
  • Assures the establishment of effective and responsible patient/associate relations and administers lost and found policy and procedure to ensure that all items are turned in daily and logged.
  • Report to work on time and in proper uniform
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Report all maintenance problems relating to equipment, linen closets, and linen department.
  • Follow all security, safety, energy and emergency procedures
  • Maintain a clean and clear work area at all times
  • Team Player
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Linen Associate Manager and/or manager on duty

Status and Scope:

  • The Laundry Supervisor reports to the Linen Associate Manager
  • Must have the ability to bend constantly
  • Must be able to effectively manage a staff of linen technicians.
  • Must be able to accurately carry out instructions
  • Must be able to do repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail focus is vital to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained
  • Able to identify and communicate problems in English to Linen Associate Manager



  • Should be able to work all department shifts
  • Have a friendly and outgoing manner
  • Previous housekeeping/laundry experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Equipment Used:
Commercial Washing Machine, Commercial Dryer, Detergents, Cleaning Solvents
Travel Requirements:   Little or No Travel (>10%)
Lifting Requirements:  
MEDIUM - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
