Description: Catering Workers assist in special events and functions held at the University of Iowa Athletic facilities, including donor receptions, television network meals, and recruiting functions.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare room for the function
  • Transport equipment for functions throughout the facility
  • Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance
  • Serve meals and beverage in accordance with catering protocol
  • Properly set tables for special functions
  • Wipe and polish service ware
  • Clean all functions areas upon completion
  • Perform opening and closing side work as needed
  • Maintain storage rooms and supplies in an orderly fashion
  • Maintain equipment and all other catering supplies
  • Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the Aramark management team.

Hours of employment:

  • Game day schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.  This is a part time position and hours vary by event and season. Must be available to work University of Iowa home football games


  • Experience in catering, banquet service, and a la carte waiter service preferred



• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment, or with little supervision
• Must be able to walk/stand for majority of shift
• TEAM/TIPS certified or able to obtain before 1st shift (TEAM training is provided at location)
• Willing to accept change, new procedures, and constructive comments
• Ability to build relationships with guests and co-workers
• Demonstrated organizational skills to improve efficiency
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and adapt to necessary and unforeseen changes
• Demonstrate consistent professionalism in the execution of daily assignments
