Description:

Job Summary:

 

Communicate with both parents and incoming students about the benefits of enrolling in a meal plan and the dining options on campus. Work with a team to reach sales goals for university meal plans.  Support the marketing department in maintaining customer satisfaction and retaining meal plan members by following marketing strategies provided for the academic year.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as a liaison between Dining Services and the student body through peer-to-peer marketing, reaching out to student groups, coordinating the marketing schedule with university events, conducting tastings/promotions, and conducting student surveys and focus groups
  • Communicate student trends by providing information on student needs, study habits, and activities to assist in identifying missed on-campus markets
  • Assist with receiving and responding to inbound customer inquiries, via phone or email
  • Assist with staffing administrative office front desk and greeting visitors, as needed
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of marketing strategies, corporate-driven programs, and on-campus promotions as delegated by the Marketing Manager and Digital Specialist
  • Develop relationships with outside vendors to obtain pricing and print requirements and follow up (with printers, designers, etc.) to ensure completion of projects
  • Communicate daily with the Marketing Manager and Digital Specialist and work together to prioritize tasks
  • Develop text for first drafts of promotional materials (brochures, postcards, emails, fliers, signage, posters, etc.)
  • Interact with customers while answering inquiries at various marketing events such as meal plan sign-up tables, residential theme dinners, and promotions
  • Distribute marketing materials to the dining locations and make sure materials posted are up-to-date (posters, maps, table tents, napkin ads, etc.)
  • Oversee long-term projects and assist with administrative tasks
  • Enter data into Excel spreadsheets for analysis, interpret spreadsheet data, and convert to an executive summary
  • Update the campus dining website with new information on locations, hours of operation, menus, etc. as needed and generate new ways to increase website traffic and student interest
  • Maintain a professional image and appearance
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner


Qualifications:

Minimum Education Required:

  • High School Diploma

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 6 months Sales and Customer Service Experience, Marketing Major or Sales and Communication Focus, Social Media Marketing & Communication Trends a plus, Computer Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Graphic Design Capabilities (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) a plus

Minimum Skills/Aptitudes Required:

  • Strong Communication Skills (Verbal & Written), Ability to Problem Solve Quickly, Effective in Multi-Tasking to manage multiple projects and priorities, Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Physical Standards:

  • Able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel.
