Position Summary: Front Desk Workers establish a welcoming atmosphere from the minute a guest arrives at the resort. Directly participates in operating a 24-hour, seven days a week, resort front desk and concierge operation. Front Desk Workers are attentive and always willing to answer questions and resolve guest issues, communicate guest needs to other departments. Front Desk Workers should be highly knowledgeable about Lake Powell Resort and Marinas and the surrounding areas; acting as a useful resource for all guests. This position requires individuals with a high attention to detail, a strong dedication to customer service and a positive and friendly attitude.



  • Provide a warm and inviting welcome to all guests upon arrival at Lake Powell Resort
  • Check guests in and out utilizing the registration computerized system
  • Sell and assist with reservations for rooms, tours and activities
  • Answers external and internal phone calls delivering messages as needed
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Boat Tours, Boat Rentals, Laundry and Maintenance as needed
  • Ensure maintenance/room traces are documented and communicated appropriately
  • Effectively communicate with guests, employees, tour directors and vendors to ensure all guests receive prompt and courteous service
  • Audit working banks to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Run all supporting Property Management System reports which assist in the efficient running of the resort including arrival and departure reports, along with other relevant reports
  • Complete incident reports and communicate in emergency situations
  • Maintain positive attitude in high stress situations
  • Go the extra mile and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Should be highly knowledgeable about Lake Powell Resort and Marinas and the surrounding areas; acting as a concierge resource for all guests. This includes but is not limited to: retail, boat rentals, food & beverage opening hours and services, tours and activities and surrounding area amenities and activities such as other National Parks in The Grand Circle
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner
  • Diplomatically handle guest complaints – always polite and maintaining a professional manner
  • Effectively interpret and disseminate information in group and individual settings
  • Must have the ability to speak clearly and confidently in front of groups of up to approximately 80 people
  • Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule
  • Learn and use Springer Miller property management system and Microsoft Office programs
  • Report to work in proper uniform
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Reports to Front Desk Lead and Supervisor
  • Develop work partnership with front desk, housekeeping, laundry, bellmen and maintenance staff
  • Position requires a strong customer service focus, strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work efficiently – prepared to help wherever needed



  • Must be fluent in English language both spoken and written
  • Computer literate in MS Office programs; some experience with property management systems preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Willingness to gain a good understanding of Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas and surrounding area, becoming fully knowledgeable on all activities and amenities offered
